Diving into YostratO – Employee focus month
This month, we take a deep dive into the inner workings of YostratO and meet Filip, who has worked with Dan at YostratO HQ for nearly two years. Want to find out what happens on a daily basis at the office or get the inside scoop from a YostratO employee? Read on to find out more!
So, Filip, you have worked with Dan at YostratO for nearly two years now, how are you finding things and what’s your journey been like?
Well, I started in 2019 in a part time role supporting website builds. I was in the office about once a week to lend a hand as projects got busier. Luckily, Dan recognised my hidden talent and from the beginning of 2020, I came into the office full time to support on a variety of elements of the business. I have learned a lot in the last two years and feel as though I have a great understanding of the company goals and what we are trying to achieve.
What has it been like working across different industries and across different projects? We can imagine it must be different every day!
I love a challenge, and every day at YostratO is different. I enjoy working across different industries as I learn more about the companies we work with, and I can build this into my skillset.
Can you tell us a bit more about what you do on a daily basis?
Well, I am normally in the office by around 8am, and I always start by checking what has come in from the night before, that could be tweaks and changes to sites and projects or an issue that Dan might need me to pick up urgently. Once I have done this, I will either move on to building or editing the websites we currently have in our pipeline, I will work on some SEO to help our clients with their website rankings or I may support with domain changes, hosting challenges and email set ups. We work on different projects every day so every day something new will come up.
What would you say you have learned in the past two years and how will this support you going forward?
I have learned so much in the last two years. Prior to joining YostratO I had a bit of experience with HTML, CSS, JS, Node and React, but not on a commercial basis. Since joining the team, I am now comfortable with building WP sites, using hosting platforms like Cloudways or Siteground. I am also confident with domain management, SEO, email set up and testing. Most importantly, I have improved my communication skills with customers. All these skills and tools will support me to move forward with my career.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
It would have to be building the websites, particularly if we are using Elementor. I am proud of my work, and I like to see the finished site and know the clients are happy with the final design. It’s also great to have other companies in the office with us, JetFruit, Your Golf Booking and Content Clever. Everyone is so helpful, and I like to think that not only are we colleagues, but friends as well!
Working alongside other businesses including app developers, copywriters and graphic designers must be helpful – can it be difficult sometimes?
As we all work so closely together, it can be difficult when we are all busy but ultimately it’s incredibly rewarding, particularly each of us receives positive news – it makes us all happy!
Thank you so much for talking to us today Filip, it has been great to get an insight into YostratO. One final question, what would you say to someone thinking about working with YostratO on their website?
I would recommend YostratO to anyone, I think we have a great group of people with a variety of expertise, and we will always deliver the best quality service possible!
